Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, USA is an American actor. She is famous for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well in ABC's Lost TV show. Originating from Worthington Ohio, she dropped out of high school to move to Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first acting gig as Rachel's Room's title character the online video show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. Her performance as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television movie Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. In 2004, Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost in which she was the main actor for the first two seasons. She was also awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. The show ended in 2005 and Grace was keen to work on film more frequently, having starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The actress was in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The actress reprised her character as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version to Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role as Shannon in Lost for two more episodes. This included the final episode of the series. In 2013, she was in the seventh season Californication. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated to win an Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and in the love story Secretary (2002). Both movies were critically acclaimed. She starred in a number of commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). Following her acclaimed performance as a single mother on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang and Hysteria. Her other roles include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 Action thriller) as well as musicians in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) in addition to her role as the Kindergarten teacher.
