Aisling Bea

Aisling is a popular Irish comedian that has been in the business for quite a while. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on the 16th of March 1984. She appeared on QI along with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea, is a popular Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea started her professional career with stand-up comedy in the year 2011, following small parts she played for Irish and British television dramas from 2009. By 2012 she was regularly appearing on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms. In 2012, following her received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA), she started to appear often in various panel shows. From 2016 to 2017 she served as the team captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and a regular contestant on the sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Born to Brian O'Sullivan, she has one sibling named Sinead. In 2012 she was the first woman ever to be awarded the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Bea's surname is in honour of her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan is a Kildare born girl. Her birth date was the 16th of March, 1984. The father of Bea was Brian was a veterinarian who worked with horses who died by suicide when she was just three years old. She did not learn the cause of death until 13 years later. The stage name she chose was Bea to honor her late father. Bea also published an article for The Guardian on her family's suicide experience. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) were raised in the same home as Helen Moloney who was a instructor and trainer of jockeys who was a professional jockey. Their family was enthralled by race meetings as well as horses. Bea was initially an official guide for tourists for the Irish National Stud. But she quickly realized that her passion was for performing and not racing.
